Custom domains

You can set up custom domains for the event overview and registration web apps. This means the URL of the registration page will be shown with your own custom domain:

Step 1: Choose a (sub)domain — choose a domain or subdomain that will be used exclusively as a custom domain for the web app.

Step 2: SSL certificate — make sure the chosen (sub)domain has a valid SSL certificate.

Step 3: Set up a reverse proxy — our web apps have the following canonical names and virtual IP addresses: InviteDesk Registration web app (registration.invitedesk.com, 52.143.137.172) and InviteDesk Event Overview web app (public.invitedesk.com, 52.143.137.172). Setting up a reverse proxy cannot be documented by us since this differs per company — make sure this is done by someone qualified.

Step 4: Test your custom domain — make sure your custom domain works without SSL certificate errors. Navigating to your new custom domain should show our registration web app returning a custom 404 page.

Step 5: Contact InviteDesk — after confirming your custom domain(s) work, contact InviteDesk at support@invitedesk.com. We will add your custom domain(s) to your InviteDesk environment.

Step 6: Link your custom domain to your design template or public page — link the custom domain for the registration web app to your design template (see the Templates page). Every event using this design template will now use your custom domain for every link in its emails. For the Event Overview web app, link the custom domain via the Public Pages section.
